Apply for your student loan now!
If you haven’t done it already, you should apply for your student loan now for the session starting in autumn 2014 – that should minimise any delay in receiving your money.
You apply for your loan depending on the country in the UK in which you are resident. The Student Loans Company website directs you towards the websites of each of the four different UK countries.
Generally speaking new students should have their applications in earlier than those continuing their studies. If you have not sent in your application yet, you should do this as soon as possible. You do not need an unconditional offer to apply – so you should apply based on your first choice course. You can always change the course details online later – but delaying your application could mean that your funding is approved and therefore received later than it need be.
The easiest way to apply in all cases is online.
Remember, if you are resident in Scotland and do not want to take a loan, you still need to apply so that your fees are paid.
